How to blur a video online (free, no upload)
Trim a clip, mark Blur In and Blur Out, cover a region, download MP4. Privacy blur, not cinematic bokeh.

You need to blur a video before you post it, attach it to a ticket, or send it in chat. The clip might show a face, a name badge, an inbox, or a license plate. BlurThis covers a region in the clip for privacy. It is not cinematic background bokeh or a CapCut effect.
How to blur a video online free
- Open the video blur tool and choose your clip (or use the Video tab on the homepage).
- Trim to the seconds you will share. Export is capped at 90 seconds.
- At the first frame the secret is visible, press Blur In and drag a box over it.
- Scrub to the last frame you need covered and press Blur Out.
- Download MP4 or WebM. Post the export, not the camera roll original.
How to blur out faces in a video
Faces need a box that follows the head, or a second Blur In / Blur Out segment when the person moves. Oval boxes waste less blur on the background. Step-by-step for faces: blur a face in a video online free.
Blur background video vs privacy blur
Search results mix two jobs. Background blur video often means soft bokeh behind a talking head (Zoom, CapCut, phone camera). Privacy blur means hiding a readable region: a plate, a screen, a name. BlurThis does the second job. For live call background blur, use your meeting app’s built-in setting: Google Meet background blur.

Phone clips
iPhone HEVC files work best in Safari or after exporting as H.264 MP4. If the clip fails to open, re-export from Photos as “Most Compatible.”
