About BlurThis
BlurThis is a small site I built for one job: cover the private part of a photo, screenshot, or short video before you share it. No account. No database. The file stays in your browser.
Who runs this
I am Shaibaz, a graphic designer based in India and the creator of BlurThis. I make simple web tools that stay on your device instead of sending the file to a server. Day to day that means layout, product copy, and the privacy guides on this site, not a large editorial desk.
I use AI-assisted tools to help build the site and draft its guides. When a built-in tool does the job (Preview on a Mac, Gallery mosaic on Android), the guide says so.
Why I built it
Many online blur products upload your file. BlurThis opens it in this tab instead. Safer than uploading the original—not a magic cloak. Video: 50 MB in, 90 seconds out, 720-pixel longest edge. No opaque black bar on video.
How the site is funded
Guide pages may show Google AdSense ads after you accept cookies. That is the only revenue. No paid tier. No ads on the editor canvas. Reject cookies and the tool still works the same.
How to check that nothing is uploaded
Short version: open the Network panel, pick a file, and watch for a request that carries your image. You should not see one. Step-by-step: How to check that for yourself.
What we do
You add a file, cover the private bit, and download. See how it works, our privacy policy, and contact.
Who this is for
Anyone who needs to hide a face, an email, a phone, card digits, or a name—without installing an app or creating an account.
What it does not do
- No automatic face tracking in video.
- No cinematic background blur—this is for hiding things.
- No promise that a light blur is irreversible. For codes and digits, use a black bar.

Face suggestions use YuNet via ONNX Runtime Web. Find text uses Tesseract.js. Inference runs on your device.
