Privacy policy

BlurThis (“we”) provides a browser tool to blur or cover details on a screenshot, photo, or short video. The site is run by Shaibaz, an individual based in India. This policy explains what we collect and what we do not.

Files and the editor

  • There is no account and no password on this site.
  • We do not run a database of your images or videos.
  • Your file is processed only in your browser. It is not uploaded to our servers with a form or API request.
  • We do not write images or videos to localStorage, cookies, or IndexedDB. Closing or refreshing the page, or tapping Clear, drops the working copy from this tab. That is not a forensic wipe of device memory or disk.
  • Find faces on images uses YuNet through ONNX Runtime Web. Find text uses Tesseract.js. Models run on your device; your pixels are not sent to a cloud API for detection. Video area blur is drawn and exported locally in the browser. Those models may download once before they run on your device.

Information you send us

If you email helloblurthis@gmail.com, we receive whatever you include in that message (your address and the body of the email) so we can reply. We do not use that mail to build a marketing list.

Cookies and Google ads

The editor itself does not set cookies. Article pages may show Google AdSense ads after you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to serve, measure, and (where allowed) personalize ads. From 3 August 2026 Google may also use IP addresses for ad measurement and personalization for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Ads are never placed on the screenshot or video canvas. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we ask for a cookie choice before enabling advertising cookies. The Accept/Reject bar on this site updates Google Consent Mode defaults. It is not a Google-certified consent management platform (IAB Transparency and Consent Framework). Until a certified CMP is configured in the AdSense account, article ads that load after Accept are requested as non-personalized. Personalized ads in those regions require a certified CMP. Rejecting cookies still lets you use the blur tool; article ads will not load. You can change a stored choice later with Privacy choices in the footer.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, review or delete ad data in My Ad Center, or visit aboutads.info. Hosting

The website files are hosted by a hosting provider (currently Vercel). They may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, as any host does, to operate and secure the site. We also use Vercel Web Analytics to see page views and referrers. That product is designed not to use cookies and does not receive your screenshots. Those logs are not the screenshot editor and do not contain the pixels of images you open in the tool.

Your choices and rights

  • You can use the editor without accepting cookies. Choose Reject on the banner; the tool works the same and article ads simply do not load.
  • To change a cookie choice later, use Privacy choices in the site footer, or clear this site’s storage in your browser.
  • Because we hold no account and no copy of your files, there is nothing for us to export or delete on the editor side. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence removed, ask at the address below and we will delete it.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over personal data (for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act). Email us to exercise them; we reply to every such request.

Children

This site is a general utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. This policy is governed by the laws of India; see the terms of use.
