Encode happens in your browser tab, not on a BlurThis GPU farm. A hard input size (50 MB), export length (90 seconds), and longest-edge cap (720 pixels) keep that work predictable on phones and laptops. Trim to the beat that holds the secret before you place boxes. Longer raw camera files belong in a desktop editor first; bring BlurThis the short segment you will actually share.

There is no opaque black bar on video in this tool. Blur and pixelate are looks, not a ranked strength ladder. If the secret is high risk (an API key, a full account number, medical text), cut the segment out of the timeline instead of hoping a smear holds under pause and zoom.

Watch the whole clip, not the box

A box at the start does not cover a notification that arrives later. Scrub the export at normal speed and watch the target region, frame by frame if needed. One uncovered frame is enough for someone who can pause. Confirm Blur In and Blur Out against the moment the subject enters and leaves, not against where you happened to stop scrubbing.

Moving subjects without auto tracking

BlurThis does not track faces or plates across frames. You have two practical patterns: one wide box that covers the whole path the subject travels, or several short timed covers in a row as the subject moves. Wide boxes are faster; stacked timed boxes look cleaner when the rest of the frame must stay sharp.
