How to blur your face in a photo before you post
Hide yourself in a group photo or background cameo before you share. On-device blur, no account.
You are in the photo but do not want to be identifiable when you post it. Maybe a friend tagged you, maybe you walked into the background, or maybe you want the scene without your face in the frame. Blurring your own face is a normal privacy step before Instagram, a family chat, or a public thread.
How to blur your face in a photo before you post
Find faces often catches your face even when you are not centered. Tap the suggestion, then widen the box to include hair and ears.
On your phone or computer
iPhone: Markup cannot soft-blur a face well. Use a filled opaque shape, or open blur a face in Safari.
Android: Gallery mosaic works for a heavy cover. For soft blur without upload, use the browser tool on the same device.

Blur your face, not the whole photo
Cover only your face (and a little padding). Leave the rest sharp so the post still makes sense. Full-frame blur makes the image useless and does not hide layout clues. Partial cover guide: blur part of an image.
Group photos and consent
Blurring your face does not blur everyone else’s. If other people are identifiable and have not agreed to be posted, cover their faces too. Same tool: blur face in photo online free.
Reflections and screens
Check windows, mirrors, and phone screens in the shot. Your face can appear twice. Zoom to 100% before you export.
Send the export, not the original
Download redacted.png and post that file. The camera roll original still has your face. Delete or keep it local; do not attach it by mistake.
